Join the Westfield Young Professionals from 8 to 9 a.m. on Tuesday, May 14 at SpringHill Suites Indianapolis Westfield for an exciting networking event featuring Mark Sutphin, Chief of Planning at the Westfield Fire Department (WFD). The hotel is located at 19317 Westmore Lane, Westfield. That’s on the west side of U.S. 31, just north of 191st St.
Division Chief Mark Sutphin was hired at WFD on May 2, 2011. After six years, he was elected into Union Leadership, where he negotiated three labor contracts and implemented multiple additions to the membership benefit package. He was then promoted to Lieutenant, where he led Ambulance and Engine Company’s through daily operations.
Currently, Sutphin is WFD’s first Division Chief of Planning. In this position, he develops Emergency Action Plans (EAPs), in conjunction with the Police Department, for all major city events. He also helps develop the departments overall strategic plan and implements the necessary actions to hit the departments goals.
Sutphin is also an Army veteran, a father to a 10-month-old boy, and loving partner to Isabel. While he loves going on hikes and spending time in nature, he’s also a self-proclaimed science and technology nerd.
