“I see great opportunity for our district in the years to come because we are positioned well for what the future holds,” Grate said. “I have loved this opportunity to serve, immensely, and feel incredibly blessed to have worked with such a dynamic team, making a positive difference in the lives of many students. Engaging with diverse stakeholders throughout the community, responding to the many messages of ideas and encouragement, has always been a joy. Most importantly, supporting our amazing students, dedicated teachers, and staff has been a highlight I will hold in my heart for the rest of my life.”

Grate has accepted an executive leadership position with Ambassador Enterprises where she will serve as Vice President of Strategic Initiatives. Ambassador Enterprises is a “legacy-minded private equity firm engaging with leaders and organizations committed to performance that creates lasting, positive impact on people and communities.”

The WWS School Board will select an interim superintendent for the remainder of the school year while a search is conducted for a new superintendent.

“I want to personally thank the five board members who hired me to be the visionary leader and change agent our district needed to be prepared for the future,” Grate said. “Duane Lutz, Amber Willis, Amy Pictor, Dan Degnan and Mary SeRine – Thank you for believing in me and assisting in positioning Westfield Washington Schools to excel while leading one of the fastest growing school districts in the State of Indiana.”
