Fundraising campaign launched to supply vehicle with new materials
The Westfield Washington Public Library (WWPL) will cut the ribbon on its new outreach vehicle at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 24 in the library’s parking lot, located at 333 W. Hoover St., Westfield.

“An outreach vehicle is a powerful step in reaching even more patrons and promoting an environment of curiosity and a love of reading regardless of location,” WWPL executive Director Sheryl Sollars said. “The outreach vehicle will be used initially to deliver books to residents at assisted and senior living facilities. We hope to eventually send it to underserved neighborhoods, local parks, and community events as well.”
In addition to checking out books, audiobooks, and DVDs, residents who visit the outreach vehicle can also get a library card and use the vehicle’s free Wi-Fi.
In an effort to fill the outreach vehicle with new material, the Westfield Library Foundation has launched a new fundraising campaign. Suggested donations are as follows:
- $15 for a children’s book
- $25 for an adult novel or large print book
- $50 for a Wonderbook
- $75 for two audio books
- $100 for five movies
