Westfield girls take third place at Interra Classic

The Westfield girls basketball team finished third at the Interra Classic, which took place last weekend at Northridge.

The Shamrocks won their first two pool games last Friday. Westfield beating NorthWood 38-33, with MaKayla Hatcher scoring 15 points to lead the ‘Rocks. Westfield then defeated Bishop Dwenger 62-32; Meg Hamilton scored 22 points.

Westfield dropped its third pool game to Penn 40-37 last Saturday, with Aubrey Crockett scoring 11 points. The Shamrocks beat Floyd Central 42-37 in the third-place game. Lindsey Van Dyke led Westfield with 12 points.

Westfield is 10-6 and plays in the Lauren Hill Classic Shootout this weekend at Lawrenceburg. The host Tigers play Beech Grove in the first game at 10 a.m., then the ‘Rocks take on East Central at noon. The consolation game is set for 6 p.m. with the championship game at 7:45 p.m.
