A messy but meaningful celebration took place at Shamrock Springs Elementary school in Westfield Wednesday.

Students got the rare chance to slime Christine DeCraene, their physical education teacher, all in the name of heart health. The school says it’s their reward for leading a schoolwide effort as part of the American Heart Association’s Kids Heart Challenge. In total, a little more than 400 students raised over $62,000. That’s the highest total of any school in Indiana.
