The NSPA is the nation’s largest association for high school, junior high and middle school journalists.
In addition to serving for at least two years on a student media staff in broadcast, newspaper, magazine, online, or yearbook, the students have earned a 3.5 or higher grade-point average on a 4.0 scale.
WHS student journalists not only do an incredible job writing and editing WWS’ online school news magazine, The Lantern, and WWS’ printed literary magazine, Verbatim, they were instrumental in the rebirth of a student newspaper at Westfield High School after almost a decade of no newspaper at all. Thanks to their hard work the legacy they leave will be a story that continues for years to come.
