The City of Westfield has received a Community Crossing grant from the Indiana Department of Transportation. The grant, totaling nearly $1.5 million, will be used to increase funding for the 2025 road resurfacing program.

In November 2024, the state awarded nearly $140 million in matching funds to communities/municipalities across the state for local road projects through Community Crossings, a component of the Governor’s Next Level Roads program. Westfield was one of 223 Indiana cities, towns, and counties that received grants.

To qualify for funding, the city must commit to providing a 50 percent match and have an asset management plan for maintaining existing roads and bridges.

According to INDOT, applications were evaluated based on need, current conditions, and impacts on safety and economic development.

More information about specific resurfacing projects will be released in the Spring.
