On Friday, the city of Westfield released some updates and clarifications about the 191st Street closure set to begin Monday, April 4.
The closure effects 191st Street from Tomlinson Road to Chad Hittle Drive. That’s between Grand Park and U.S. 31.
- All businesses in that area will remain open during construction. It is a requirement to maintain access to all property owners during construction.
- There will be digital signage on U.S. 31 advising Grand Park traffic to use the State Road 32 exit. Please note: The Wheeler Road and Tournament Trail traffic signal will be activated in the next two weeks.
- The roundabout at Tomlinson Road and 191st Street will remain open to traffic going all other directions. Only the east leg will be closed.
City officials understand the timing of this project is inconvenient with summer approaching, but the window of time to construct a road is limited in Indiana due to cold temperatures.
