Starting Tuesday, Sept. 3, police officers will collaborate with Westfield Washington Schools staff to facilitate a transition of traffic management duties. Initially, officers will continue to manage traffic at all designated school zones, providing hands-on training to school staff who will gradually assume these responsibilities.
Certain intersections will continue to be staffed by police officers, even with the new agreement in place. Lower-traffic areas will be facilitated by district staff.
