Westfield Middle School’s Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) had an incredible week at the National Leadership Conference in Denver, Colo.
Three middle school students competed against thousands of members from across the nation and conducted professional presentations on the importance of family and consumer sciences (FACS), repurposing and sustainability, and a chapter service project where the students ran a donation drive to collect treats and make dog toys from old T-shirts.
In addition to attending youth leadership workshops and participating the long-running FCCLA tradition of state pin trading, they all received silver medals in their events.
The students say they are excited to grow the chapter next school year and create more leaders.
