Last Saturday, Feb. 22, the Westfield Lions spent the day cleaning and prepping the clubhouse so they can resume holding their meetings there and begin renting the facility out to the public. Sixteen Lions cleaned up construction debris, mopped floors, washed windows, cleaned bathrooms, and set up their new kitchen.
The clubhouse, located at 1101 E. 169th St., has been under renovations for the past several months. The original building has been completely renovated, including expanding the square footage for a new kitchen, conference room, ADA-compliant bathrooms, and a larger meeting room.
The Lions anticipate making the building available for rent sometime in April. Final steps are being taken to develop a building rental policy and rate, and install the IT system which includes public Wi-Fi, built-in projector, security system, and large-screen TVs.
A public open house will be held on Saturday, May 3. This will give everyone a chance to see first-hand just how amazing the project turned out. Details on the open house will be sent out ahead of the event.
