On April 8, six Westfield Lions volunteered to assist the City of Westfield’s “Total Solar Eclipse” event at Grand Park. With a LOT of coaching from Greg McCauley, the president and CEO of Westfield’s Grand Universe, the Lions helped people use three special telescopes to view the sun and the eclipse. These telescopes showed sunspots, solar flares, and eventually the total eclipse. It was a tremendous preview of some of the special technology Grand Universe will feature once it’s constructed. To find out more about Grand Universe and all that it will offer, go to granduniverse.org. Also, anyone interested in learning more about the Westfield Lions Club, including how to become a member, should go to westfieldlions.org.
