Westfield Lions Club celebrates 89th birthday

At the Westfield Lions Club 89th Anniversary Celebration and Awards meeting on Oct. 3, club members, families and guests had the chance to celebrate their own.

After on outstanding dinner created by Westfield High School’s Foodies, entertainment was provided by Jeff Larrison as host of the now annual “Westfield Lions Jeopardy!” contest, which, according to Lions Club members, once again proved the total lack of trivial knowledge on pretty much any subject by the members.

Westfield Lions Club’s 2018-2019 Roy O. Hadley Lion of the Year award was presented to Mark Albright by Lion Tracy Rogers.

Lion Larry Clarino presented a Richard T. Miyamoto Fellowship to Lion Don Collins for his continued efforts supporting the club activities, especially his work in promoting the Lions Car Show at Westfield Rocks the 4th.

Past President Gary Smith was presented with a Melvin Jones Fellowship award.

A special attendance award was presented to Lion Bob Benson for his 50th year as a Westfield Lion.

A new member, Steve Russel, sponsored by John Wardlow, was admitted to the Westfield Lions Club by Lions District Governor Dan Wilcox.
