“I have had the pleasure to work with Kevin over the past 20 years,” said WHS athletic director Bill Davis. “He is an outstanding person and great coach. He led our program very successfully in the past and we are fortunate to be able to get him back.”
Peters brings 15 years of coaching experience starting in 2001 as an assistant coach at Deerfield High School in Deerfield, Illinois. While at Deerfield, the team earned many conference championships and four Top 3 finishes in the state tournament including winning the Illinois State Championship in 2005. The last four years he served as the assistant to Mike Raymond and helped the team become a much more competitive team including a 13-2 record in 2015.
Tennis has always been an important part of Coach Peters’ life. He earned three varsity letters at Warren Central High School playing singles, was active in the Indiana University Club and Intermural programs and currently plays twice a week at CRC.
Professionally, Peters is a Mathematics teacher. He currently teaches AP Statistics and Algebra Two. He earned his BS in Education: Mathematics from Indiana University Bloomington and his MS in Mathematics from Northeastern Illinois University.
Personally, Peters loves spending time with his wife, Natalie and two wonderful daughters Payton (7) and Tinley (5). In his free time, he enjoys playing and watching all sports and grilling on his Big Green Egg.
“Tony is an outstanding Mathematics teacher and has assisted with our boys tennis program,” said Davis. “He is a high character person and will be a great leader for our boys program. We look forward to continued success in our program.”
