For the seventh consecutive year, the Westfield High School football team will host a blood drive participating in the Indiana Blood Center Colts Leadership Challenge. The blood drive will take place from 2 to 7 p.m. today in the Westfield High School Upper Gym.
Each year, Indiana Blood Center encourages Indiana high school football teams to take part in the Colts Leadership Challenge blood drive challenge. This unique program is an opportunity for Indiana high school students to participate in life-giving community service, demonstrate leadership and show their school spirit by recruiting members of their community to participate in a blood drive. Through the program, students have a direct impact on hospital patients and contribute to their quality of life through the gift of blood.
It’s encouraging to see students express compassion and desire to help others in their communities. Clearly, Indiana Blood Center’s mission to serve those in need resonates with today’s youth.
