Westfield is hosting a heavy trash drop-off day this Saturday, Oct. 14.
The heavy trash and bulk item drop-off event provides Westfield residents an opportunity to get rid of materials that cannot be disposed of in their weekly trash and recycling.
A list of acceptable items can be found here. There is no charge for most items. A nominal fee will apply for certain objects for which only cash will be accepted.
Participants must provide a copy of their city of Westfield trash/storm-water bill to prove residency.
Technology Recyclers will be on hand to help residents dispose of monitors, laptops, televisions, printers and other tech equipment. Ray’s Trash is providing document shredding services at no charge.
Sgt. Billy Adams of the Westfield Police Department will be on hand sporting a pink badge to raise awareness about breast cancer. Donations for Westfield’s Relay for Life will be accepted.
The event starts at 8 a.m. and ends promptly at noon at Westfield City Services Center, located at 2728 E. 171st St.
This is the second heavy trash event for 2017, following an earlier event in May.
