Westfield grad Jocelyn Bruch competes in Southwestern Women’s Amateur in Arizona

Westfield graduate Jocelyn Bruch competed in the Southwestern Women’s Amateur tournament this week at Desert Mountain Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Bruch, an incoming senior at Purdue University, finished tied for 13th place in the four-day event with a score of 286, two under par. Bruch’s Tuesday first round consisted of a two under par 70, she then went even par in the Wednesday second round with 72.

In the Thursday third round, Bruch went under par again, carding a one under 71. In Friday’s final round, Bruch finished with 73. She totaled 14 birdies for the tournament, making five in the first round, then drained three in each of the next three rounds.

Bruch had a solid junior season at Purdue, participating in all 13 of the Boilermakers’ tournaments. She led the team in pars with 441, and got two top-ten finishes, including a tied-for-sixth result at the Boilermaker Classic. Bruch made a hole in one during the final round of the NCAA Las Vegas regional; she finished tied for 24th in that event with a 222.
