Westfield GOP to welcome Secretary of State Diego Morales

With the primary election over and an upcoming State GOP Convention, the Westfield GOP Club will soon play host to Indiana Secretary of State Diego Morales at the Club’s next meeting from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21 at Viking Meadows Clubhouse, 15757 Viking Meadows Drive, Westfield.

Secretary Morales serves as Indiana’s Chief Election Officer, working with all 92 county clerks and election administrators to ensure safe and secure elections statewide. Having experienced the 2022 State GOP Convention as a successful candidate, he will provide a unique perspective on the convention as well as all elections. About Diego Morales

Diego Morales says he is proud to be Indiana’s 63rd Secretary of State, having made history by becoming the first Latino elected to a statewide office in the history of Indiana. He is currently the only immigrant elected as Secretary of State in the United States.

In his first six months in office, Morales visited all 92 counties, a record pace for a statewide office holder. He broke his own record this year, visiting all 92 counties within three months.

Under his administration, Indiana has passed laws strengthening photo identification voting requirements.

Morales previously worked in state government as an aide to former Vice President Mike Pence during his tenure as governor.

Morales grew up in Sellersburg, Ind., and went to Silver Creek High School, later earning degrees from Indiana University, an MBA from Purdue University, and an International MBA from Tilburg University in the Netherlands. In addition, he studied in Germany, Hungary, Mexico, China, and other locations around the world.

Morales also proudly served in the United States Army and National Guard. He’s been the recipient of numerous honors in recognition of his public service including the Kentucky Colonel and the Sagamore of Wabash.
