Westfield Fire reports total loss in Monday evening house fire

On Monday, Westfield firefighters were dispatched at 7:45 p.m. to a house fire in the 500 block of Main Street (State Road 32). The road was closed east of U.S. 31 to Carey Road.

Approximately 45 firefighters arrived with heavy fire coming from the residence and extending into a second structure.

Occupants of the residence were checked for injuries; no firefighters were reported injured.

The primary residence is a complete loss and the second residence has significant to near total loss, as well.

Investigators have not determined the cause at this time and may take several days due to the extent of the damage. No dollar amount of the losses is available.

Crews were assisted by Carmel Fire, Noblesville Fire, Zionsville Fire, Westfield Police, Westfield Public Works, INDOT, Red Cross, Citizens Energy, Duke, Centerpoint, Hamilton County Communications, and Westfield Emergency Response Social Worker.
