Westfield returned home to CSI Gymnasium last Saturday to host Liberty Christian, but the Shamrocks lost another tough game, 50-48.
The Lions blasted off to a 21-6 lead after one quarter, and maintained that advantage in the second period, leading 30-14 at halftime. Westfield made a big comeback in the third quarter, pouring in 26 points to cut LC’s lead to 42-40. The game was tied at 48-48 with under 30 seconds to go, but the Lions made a basket at the buzzer to win.
Buchanan scored 16 points, followed by Sam Bishop with 13 points. Romack added nine points and LaRavia scored six.
Westfield is 2-3 in HCC play and 10-5 overall. The Shamrocks host Fishers on Thursday in a conference game.
