The Westfield City Council unanimously approved the Hittle at ThirtyOne PUD at Monday evening’s meeting.
The proposal features two hotels on the southwest corner of 191st Street and US 31.
“Currently, Westfield is home to only three hotels, but in the last year was responsible for 72,000 hotel room nights,” explains Mayor Andy Cook. “There were nearly 750,000 visitors in 2017 to Grand Park and we want those visitors to spend their dollars in Westfield.”
The PUD proposal shows exhibits of a Staybridge Suites and a La Quinta Inns and Suites on the site. The proposal also highlighted a Public Arts Plaza, which would showcase artists in and around the area.
The PUD was forwarded to the City Council with a unanimous favorable recommendation from the APC. The next phase of the project is a platting and development plan proposal submitted by the developer.
