(Above) On Tuesday, a student-led demonstration supporting unity and solidarity took place in Westfield. The group organized at Asa Bales Park near Westfield High School and marched to State Road 32 and Union Street. Once the demonstrators reached downtown Westfield, they knelt and held hands with members of the Westfield Police Department.
(Below) Demonstrators came together for a second day on Tuesday, marching through the streets of Carmel. This time Carmel Mayor Jim Brainard, Chief of Police Jim Barlow (left) and Hamilton County Sheriff Dennis Quakenbush (right) joined the protestors during the peaceful demonstration. The protest started at Carter’s Green and proceeded to Carmel Police headquarters where Brainard and Barlow addressed the crowd.
