The Westfield boys basketball team kept its win streak going Tuesday, beating Franklin Central 75-73 in overtime at The Rock.
It’s the third straight victory for the Shamrocks after an 0-2 start, and already the second overtime win for Westfield this season. The game was tied at 64-64 at the end of regulation, with the ‘Rocks outscoring the Flashes 11-9 in the extra period.
Westfield led 34-26 at halftime. Franklin Central came back to force OT by outscoring the Shamrocks 20-13 in the fourth quarter.
Josh Van Dyke led the scoring with 18 points, the first of four players in double figures. Caleb Welch added 17 points, Zach Banks scored 16 and Benji Welch added 10 points. Van Dyke grabbed seven rebounds and Camden Simons pulled six.
Westfield is now 3-2 for the season and travels to Noblesville on Saturday for a Hoosier Crossroads Conference game.
