Weekend crash leaves one dead

At approximately 8:44 p.m. on Feb. 25, Carmel Police responded to an accident near the intersection of 96th Street and Wild Cherry Lane. Officers arrived and found two vehicles involved in the crash.

Based on the preliminary investigation, it appears a silver 2004 Saturn Vue (SUV) operated by Robert “Bobby” Carlow, 29, Carmel, was traveling eastbound 96th Street near Wild Cherry Lane. Carlow collided with a green 2006 Kia Sportage (SUV) operated by Trina Price, 53, Indianapolis, who was also traveling eastbound on 96th Street. It appears the silver Saturn was traveling at a high rate of speed when it rear-ended the green Kia. The Saturn then traveled across the roadway and struck a large tree on the north side of 96th Street.

Carlow was pronounced deceased at the scene as result of his injuries.

Price was transported to St. Vincent hospital on 86th Street with minor injuries.

Accident reconstructionists from the Carmel Police Department are still actively investigating the crash. 96th Street and Wild Cherry Lane roadways were temporarily closed during the investigation.
