Hamilton Heights senior Keaton Weaver signed a letter of intent to play football for Manchester University in North Manchester, Ind., this fall. Manchester University is a member of the Heartland Conference and a NCAA Division III athletic institution. He is the son of Ryan Weaver and Michelle Derrer.

Weaver chose Manchester University because of its beautiful campus and the football coaches. It offers a good environmental studies program and is a place where he can play football at the collegiate level and work toward his long-term goal of becoming a pilot.

Weaver, who earned the Iron Husky Award, has held a lifelong love of football. He became passionate about the sport in the sixth grade when training with Coach Morelli at X-Factor QB Academy and has been going there ever since. When Weaver is not studying, training, or on the field, he can be found working at Pebble Brook Golf Club.

He credits his parents who have pushed him to become the man he is today.

“Keaton was a two-year starter for us as a wide receiver,” Hamilton Heights Head Football Coach Jon Kirschner said. “His quickness, dynamic route running, and breakaway speed made him a dangerous threat on the outside for us the past two seasons. His athletic ability allowed him to be able to turn a five-yard catch into a touchdown. He has given everything to Husky football the past four years. I believe his hard work and dedication to Husky football will pay off for him in the coming years at Manchester. I wish him nothing but the best at the next level.”

“Keaton has been a huge help with providing depth at the varsity receiver position the past three years,” Hamilton Heights Athletic Director Kurt Ogden said. “His speed and hands have helped the offense tremendously.  He will be a huge asset for Manchester in the same way. We wish him the best as he continues to play the game he loves.”
