All members of the United States Armed Forces who served 1955 to 1975 and their families are invited to attend “Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans” on Thursday, Oct. 6 at the Hamilton North Public Library in Cicero.
The event will be held from 2 to 5 p.m., and attendees may come and go at their leisure.
The mission of Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans is to honor, remember, and thank all the men, women, and their families who served in the United States Armed Forces from 1955 to 1975.
“When our Vietnam era Veterans came home, they did not get the ‘Welcome Home’ they deserved,” said Gary Green, event organizer. “We hope to provide that ‘Welcome Home’ with a token of our appreciation and remembrance.”
The public is encouraged to attend and join in thanking and honoring these Veterans for their service to the United States of America.
This event is for any Veteran in the 1955 to 1975 era of service no matter where or how they served.
Sad. I hear this story from many of the vets in our VFW and AL posts
