Volleyball: Three HSE players make all-state team

Royals Assistant Coach Larry Leonhardt named Asst. Coach of the Year

Fresh off their Class 4A state championship win, three Hamilton Southeastern volleyball players received recognition from the Indiana High School Volleyball Coaches Association early this week.

Royals players Avery Hobson, Lauren Harden and Macy Hinshaw were all named the IHSVCA’s Class 4A First Team All-State. All three players were integral parts of Southeastern’s run to a 34-1 record and the school’s first-ever volleyball state title. So was libero Sophie Ledbetter, who received Second Team All-State honors.

Fishers’ Ava Vickers also received First Team All-State honors, while Carmel’s Lauren Evans was named to the Second Team All-State. Royals assistant coach Larry Leonhardt was named the Assistant Coach of the Year.

Guerin Catholic’s Claire Castor was named to the Class 3A Second Team All-State.

HCC announces All-Conference teams

The Hoosier Crossroads Conference announced its All-Conference team on Monday.

Southeastern finished its HCC campaign with a perfect 7-0 record, winning its fifth consecutive conference championship and putting together its fourth straight perfect HCC season. The Royals have won 33 conference matches in a row.

Southeastern coach Jason Young was named the HCC Coach of the Year.
