Volleyball: Southeastern easily sweeps Harrison to secure third consecutive regional title

The Hamilton Southeastern girls volleyball team easily won its third consecutive regional championship last Saturday.

The Class 4A No. 1-ranked Royals claimed the Homestead regional trophy with a sweep of Harrison, 25-11, 25-11, 25-16. Madison Miles led Southeastern’s offense with 15 kills, while Lindsey Mangelson put down 13 kills. Ava Hunter dished out 35 assists.

Maye McConnell led the defense with 16 digs.  had strong net play: Bre Morgan made six block assists, with Mangelson getting one solo block and four block assists.

Southeastern improved to 31-2 with the victory, its fifth regional title in program history. The Royals travel to Huntington North this Saturday to compete in the Class 4A north semi-state. Southeastern plays Penn in the second semifinal, which will start around noon. The first semifinal, between Crown Point and Fort Wayne Carroll, starts the day at 10 a.m. Semifinal winners play for the championship at 7 p.m.
