Volleyball: Sheridan rebounds over Traders Point Christian

The Sheridan volleyball split a pair of matches this week.

On Tuesday, the Blackhawks were swept by Herron 25-17, 25-18, 25-7. Kenzie Garner hit nine kills, with Trinity Parkin and Nova Cross both hitting three. Cross, Parkin, Beth Adams and Garner all served one ace each. Cross dished out nine assists, while Adria Jump handed out three.

On defense, Meredith Krupp made 12 digs, Cross collected eight and Jump and Garner both got six. Parkin made one solo block, with Garner and Shelby Eaton both making a block assist.

Sheridan rebounded on Wednesday and swept past Traders Point Christian 25-6, 25-12, 25-11. Parkin put down nine kills, with Lainey Mendenhall hitting eight, Cross hitting seven, Garner spiking six kills and Eaton hitting four. Parkin served four aces, followed by Jump with three and Krupp with two. Jump dished out 35 assists.

Garner led the Blackhawks in digs with 11, while Krupp collected nine and Cross had seven. Garner made one solo block.

Sheridan is 5-4 and plays a Hoosier Heartland Conference match at 6 p.m. tonight at Eastern.
