The Hamilton Southeastern volleyball team clinched a share of the Hoosier Crossroads Conference championship with a straight-set Senior Night win over Franklin Central on Thursday.
The Class 4A No. 4 Royals won 25-13, 25-14, 25-18. Several seniors made their presences known: Taylor Shelton hit 13 kills, Zada Anderson put down eight kills and Julia Patras had two kills. Senior manager Lily Wray was honored as well.
Grace Hunter hit 11 kills on the outside, while Kayla Berg had a strong defensive night with 15 digs and two aces. Delaney Garner made three blocks.
“I am so grateful to these four seniors and the impact they have had on the program,” said Southeastern coach Jason Young. “Two conference championships in three years speaks volumes about their leadership.”
Fishers won an all-county match with Westfield on Thursday, 25-21, 25-22, 27-25.
Tigers senior Audrey Haworth led her team with 11 kills and three aces, also adding five digs and 1.5 blocks. Sophomore Camryn Haworth had 10 kills, eight digs and one ace. Rose Duffy reached double-double status with 31 assists and 10 digs, plus two kills, two block assists and one ace.
Senior libero Emma Rosenberg collected 18 digs and had a 2.00 rating for serve-receive. Junior Bryn Roberts also passed a 2.00, along with nine digs and seven kills. Senior Haley Soper put down six kills and had two block assists, while sophomore Jada Allen had six block assists and five kills.
Kinsey McAfee hit nine kills for the Shamrocks, with Kenzie Daffinee and Anna Johnsey both putting down seven. McAfee and Johnsey both made two blocks as well. Sarah Weglarz handed out 24 assists and passed the 1,000 set mark for her career. Bailey Mendler collected 17 digs, while Peighton Isley had 11 and Sydney Rader had nine.
Noblesville won its HCC finale on Thursday, beating Brownsburg in five sets, 25-23, 24-26, 14-25, 25-23, 15-8.
Lexie Almodovar hit 31 kills, and also had 17 digs and five aces. Ava Nichols dished out 49 assists to go with 11 digs and four aces. Ella Peter put down eight kills and also had seven digs and three blocks. Kayla Thompson collected 13 digs and served four aces, while Olivia Gulley made 21 digs.
University got a Senior Night victory over Bethesda Christian on Thursday, 25-9, 25-18, 25-22.
Soren Rothenberg led the team in blocks.
The Westfield volleyball team honored its seniors on Thursday night before its match with Fishers.
