Volleyball: Huskies sweep Lebanon

The Hamilton Heights volleyball team picked up its second win of the year by beating Lebanon 25-22, 25-20, 25-8 on Wednesday.
Katie Mottweiler had a solid serving night, scoring 14 points out of 22 serves. Mottweiler combined with Kelsey Smith, Lexi Hayden, Kennedy McGill and Jordan Fryman to hit 27 kills. Carlie Ward helped the Huskies to victory with her digs and serve receive.
The Huskies are now 2-1 for the season. The Heights junior varsity team lost 25-13, 25-16.

Westfield won a three-set match at Greenfield-Central on Wednesday, 25-19, 26-24, 25-19.
Kenzie Daffinee led the Shamrocks with 11 kills, with Sarah Weglarz serving five aces. Ellary Detamore collected 18 digs, while Peighton Isley had 16 digs.
Westfield is now 2-1 for the season.

Carmel also got a three-set Wednesday win, beating Roncalli 27-25, 25-19, 26-24.
Anne Lesure handed out 20 assists to go with 10 kills and two aces for the Greyhounds. Ella Bostic dished out 16 assists, and also had three digs and one ace. Maria Zweig picked up 14 digs and had five assists.
Macarty McQueen hit 10 kills, collected six digs and made two blocks. Lexi Brehl had nine digs, one ace and one assist, and Kelise Twyner put down eight kills.
Carmel is now 2-1 for the season.

Noblesville lost an away match at Mount Vernon on Wednesday in four sets, 26-24, 25-13, 25-27, 25-16.
Lexie Almodovar led the Millers with 19 kills, 16 digs and three aces. Riley Branch handed out 40 assists and picked up eight digs, while Diana Cox collected 10 digs. Bella Hines hit six kills, and Ella Peter put down five kills.
Noblesville is 1-1 for the season and hosts Bishop Chatard at 6:30 p.m. tonight at The Mill.

Fishers dropped a three-set match to McCutcheon on Wednesday, 25-18, 25-23, 25-20.
The Tigers are 1-2 and play at Brebeuf Jesuit on Saturday morning.
