The Hamilton Heights volleyball team won the Hoosier Conference tournament on Saturday.
The Huskies swept all three matches in straight sets, first beating Tipton 25-23, 25-13, then defeating Lafayette Central Catholic 25-15, 25-15, followed by a win over Northwestern 25-19, 26-24.
Ana Collar handed 31 assists for the tournament, along with 27 kills, 21 digs and seven blocks. Hannah Crist hit 14 kills, collected seven digs and served one ace, while Sydney Griffey put down 18 kills, made nine digs and hit one ace. Emma Knowles served 14 points and served an ace in the Tipton match.
Hamilton Southeastern won two matches at the North/South Invitational at Columbus East on Saturday.
The Royals swept past Center Grove in their first match, 25-20, 25-12, 25-19. Meredith Phillips hit 14 kills, while Lark Jones made five blocks. Grace Kane led the defense with 16 digs.
Southeastern then beat Columbus East in four sets, 25-11, 25-11, 23-25, 25-17 in its second match.
Grace Hunter spiked 16 kills, while Olivia Phillips dished out 30 assists. Kane collected 18 digs, and in the second set broke the school record for career digs with 1109. Kane also served seven aces.
“Grace has been a special four-year starter for this program,” said HSE coach Jason Young. “She has been the heart and soul of the defense. I am so proud she was able to accomplish this record. We will miss her next season when she continues her career at Campbell University.”
Southeastern is now 22-8 for the season and plays Greenfield-Central on Tuesday.
Noblesville also won two matches at the North/South Invitational.
The Millers swept Columbus East 25-23, 25-17, 25-20, then beat Center Grove in five sets, 25-19, 24-26, 26-24, 23-25, 15-9.
