Volleyball: Hamilton Heights gets eighth match in a row, Westfield & Carmel fall

The Hamilton Heights volleyball team won its eighth consecutive match on Wednesday, sweeping Delta on the road.

The Huskies won 25-17, 25-19, 25-16. Heights is 21-3 for the season and travels to Lafayette Central Catholic Saturday morning to play in the Hoosier Conference tournament.

Westfield dropped a four-set Hoosier Crossroads Conference match at Avon Wednesday.

The set scores were 19-25, 25-15, 25-20, 27-25. Carsyn Comer hit 14 kills for the Shamrocks, followed by Paige Rudolph and Audrey Bassett with 11 kills each. Kendyl Strack collected 19 digs. Emily Blevins dished out 22 assists and Izzy Jackson made 18 assists.

Westfield is 4-2 in HCC play and 18-7 overall. The Shamrocks host Plainfield on Saturday morning.

Carmel dropped a straight-set match to Cathedral Wednesday, 25-23, 25-23, 25-19 at the Eric Clark Activity Center.

The Greyhounds are 7-16 and play tonight at Plainfield.
