Virginia Rose Frye, 79, Cicero, passed away on July 9, 2022, at Harbour Manor at Noblesville.
She was born on June 5, 1943, in Patricksburg, Ind., to Charles and Lina Ruby (Rawley) Frye. She attended Walnut Grove School and graduated with the Class of 1961. She then furthered her education at Ball State University, earning a B.S. and master’s degree in education.
Virginia taught second grade for Carmel Clay Schools for 37 years. She then worked at the Fishers and Noblesville libraries for over 10 years. This was a perfect fit for Virginia because she loved to read. She also enjoyed traveling, eating out, and playing euchre, hand and foot, and Rummikub with her family and the Walnut Grove Gals. Virginia cherished being with her family and friends and looked forward to attending the Walnut Grove Alumni Banquet each year. She also was a faithful member of Victory Chapel Church.
Surviving her is a brother, Lonnie James (Peggy) Frye of Noblesville; sisters, Mary Ruth Cox and Diane (Fred) Hollyfield, both of Elwood; several nieces and nephews; and a cousin who was like a brother to her, Steven Padgett.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert Lee Frye and John David Frye; and her sisters, Alma Campbell, Patty Young and Jenny Frye.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Monday, July 18, 2022, at Victory Chapel Church, 13350 E. 216th St., Noblesville, with burial to follow at Carey Cemetery. Pastor Andy Marshall will officiate. A time of visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of the services.
