Virginia Joy Waterman Johnson, 92 1/2, Noblesville, passed peacefully on Friday, December 29, 2017 at her home. She was born on May 11, 1925 to Ralph and Lelah May (Creekmore) Waterman in Fall Creek Township, Hamilton County. Joy was a 1943 graduate of Fishers High School.
She is survived by her children, Daniel Chard (Patty) Johnson, LaDonna Mae Thompson, Linda Carol Johnson, Betty Jo (Ed) Cortrecht and Andrea Joy (Gerald) Ellingwood; brothers and sisters, June Landis, Jean Layton, John (Joyce) Waterman, Janet Wilson, Jake (Sandy) Waterman and Jane (Ed) Christman; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Joy was preceded in death by her husband, DeWitt Johnson in 2002; brothers, Jerry, Jack and Joe Waterman; and sister, Julia Ann Sigler.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 1150 Logan St., Noblesville, with visitation from 11 a.m. to the time of service. Pastor Mark Powell will officiate. Burial will be at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville.
