Vintage Baseball Match postponed until May 27

The historically accurate baseball match, a Hamilton County Bicentennial celebration event originally scheduled to be played this Saturday, April 22, has been rescheduled due to the forecast for inclement weather.

The prediction for potentially heavy rains on Friday and dropping temperatures, accompanied by high winds resulting in poor field conditions and a less-than-conducive event experience, contributed to the decision made by Hamilton County Bicentennial Committee members, Hamilton County Parks and Recreation (HCPR) staff and the players.

“Because of the special nature of this baseball game, we felt it should be played under the most ideal conditions for the spectators and the players,” HCPR Events Coordinator Christopher Gullion said. “We will be offering all of the same entertaining and educational activities first planned for the event, which has been rescheduled for Saturday, May 27.”

Historic Bishop’s Park in Arcadia remains the location where the “ultimate throwback game” will be played. More details about this and other exciting Bicentennial events can be found at MyHamiltonCountyParks.com, on the HCPR Facebook page or by visiting HamCoTurns200.com.
