Vera Jean (Jeannie) Hall Bures passed away at her home December 8, 2022. She was born in Indianapolis on November 1, 1936, to Ruth A. (McKinsey) and Howard K. Hall. She was a 1954 graduate of Walnut Grove High School.
Jeannie married Jerry K Bures on September 3, 1955. They were the parents of Christy Sue (Bures) Boyd and Douglas K Bures. Jeannie was employed by Western Electric in Indianapolis for several years. She and Jerry owned and operated the Corner Tavern in Cicero.
Jeannie was a member of the Cicero Order of Eastern Star, Women of the Moose (Noblesville), and the American Legion Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jerry; her son, Doug; and son-in-law, Guy Boyd. Jeannie is survived by her daughter, Christy; daughter-in-law, Rita (Kathy) Bures; and grandchildren, Guy F. Boyd IV (Ana), Gabrielle C. Boyd, Benjamin K Bures, and Joseph O. Bures.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, December 23 at Hartley Funeral Home, 209 W. Jackson St., Cicero, with Rev. Jody Brown officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at Cicero Cemetery.
