Construction activity will ramp up this month for the Reimagine Pleasant Street project. Throughout the coming weeks, you may notice additional equipment and truck traffic as crews prepare for the 2024 construction season.

Drivers will notice traffic restrictions along River Road on or after April 1 as crews begin to build the new roundabout for the River Road and Pleasant Street intersection. Traffic will shift as temporary pavement is added and the roundabout is constructed. Roundabout construction will last approximately five months.

Walnut Street between 8th and 9th streets will also close on or after Tuesday, April 9. Residents will have access to their properties at all times throughout construction. Crews will be reconstructing the road and installing new storm sewer infrastructure for what will be an extension of the Midland Trace Trail. This portion of Walnut Street is scheduled to reopen in May.
