Two young golfers picked up wins in their respective divisions on Friday as the Indiana Golf Association’s Prep Tour made a stop at Forest Park in Noblesville.
Fishers’ Mattingly Upchurch continued his solid summer by taking first in the Boys 11-12 division. Shrugging off rain delays, Upchurch carded a 72 in his round, which included three birdies. Westfield’s Ryan Cesare tied for third place, making one birdie.
Carmel’s Maya Keuling won the Girls 8-10 division, with a nine-hole score of 41. She was one of three Carmel players to finish in the top five; Karis Reid was third with a 50 and Ishin Fujita was fifth with a 56.
Other county winners this week included Westfield’s Brette Hanavan, who carded a 79 to place first in the Girls 13-15 division at Maplecrest in Goshen, a Friday stop on the IGA Junior Tour. Noblesville’s Caroline Whallon made two birdies on her way to an 82, good for third place.
Carmel’s Claire Swathwood won the Girls 13-15 division at the Junior Tour’s event at Otis Park in Bedford, which also took place on Friday. Swathwood made an eagle and two birdies while carding a 76.
