University swimming sweeps Elwood

The University swim teams swept Elwood on Wednesday.
The Trailblazers girls beat the Panthers 100-58, marking the first time they have ever won a dual meet. University won eight of the 11 events.
Three UHS girls won two events: Charlotte Kumler (500 freestyle and backstroke), Regan Hooker (200 free and butterfly) and Caitlin Clark (individual medley and breaststroke). The ‘Blazers finished first in the medley relay (Kumler, Hooker, Clark and Ella Eskenazi) and the 400 free relay (Kumler, Hooker, Eskenazi and Stasia Reinholt).
This was the first University swim meet for five of the 10 girls who competed: Kylar Kavanaugh, Annie Klemsz, Meredith Malott, Zoe Napier, and Reinholt.
The Trailblazers boys won 111-45, taking nine of 11 events. Keegan Priest was first in the butterfly and backstroke, Roy Raz paced the IM (in a new school record time of 2:11.34) and 500 free, Cole Reinholt won the breaststroke and Andrew Laramore won the 200 free.
University swept all three relays. Priest, Raz, Reinholt and Cordell Wilson won the medley relay; Reinholt Wilson, Austin Clark and Hayden Suarez-Davis were first in the 200 free relay; and Priest, Raz, Clark and Suarez-Davis won the 400 free relay.
Eight swimmers were competing for the first time: Ethan Bandick, Eli Beheler, Gordon Bradley, Coghlin Kumler, Laramore, Asher Whitcomb, Jack Zhou, and Joe Zhou.
The Trailblazers will compete against Muncie Burris and New Castle on Saturday.
