The University girls clinched the Pioneer Academic Athletic Conference North Division championship for the sixth consecutive year with a 46-17 win over Muncie Burris at The U Center.
The Trailblazers held Burris scoreless in the first half jumping out to a 33-0 halftime lead. University led 16-0 after the first quarter with seven players scoring. Alex Feeney and Keira Bright had four each in the quarter. Bright added nine more points in the second quarter and finished with a team-high 14 points.
Mack Feeney scored eight in her first career start while Charlotte Conyers added seven off the bench. Alex Feeney had six points, Hannah Grubbs five, Reva Allam four and Anyah Jordan-Turley two to complete the Trailblazers scoring.
University had 30 steals in the contest. Conyers led with seven steals while Bright, Mack Feeney, Grubbs and Jordan-Turley each had five steals. Grubbs had a game-high seven rebounds.
University will travel to the PAAC South Division champion on Jan. 14 in an attempt to defend its PAAC championship. University has now won 19 consecutive PAAC North games and is 25-2 all time in division play.
The 8-4 Trailblazers are off until Dec. 22 when they travel to the Tiernan Center in Richmond to play in the Casey Pohlenz Memorial Tournament. University plays the Indianapolis Homeschool Wildcats and Bishop Chatard in pool play on Dec. 22. Bracket games will occur Dec. 23.
