University cruises to victory

The Class 2A No. 3 University girls basketball team cruised to a 70-23 win over the Living Water Marlins Homeschool team Wednesday night at The U Center.
Four players scored in double figures as the Trailblazers improved to 6-0 on the season. Kelsey DuBois led with 20 points and 11 rebounds while fellow sophomore Payton Seay also had a double-double with 14 points and ten rebounds.
Senior Sierra Hinds had 11 points and seven rebounds with sophomore Jordan Patterson scoring 10. Hinds made a trio of three-point shots while Patterson had two. Arrion Sherrod also made two three-pointers and had nine points.
University led 8-6 midway through the first period before scoring the last six points on the quarter to lead 16-6 at the break. DuBois had eight points and four rebounds in the opening quarter.
The Trailblazers broke the game open in the second quarter, holding the Marlins scoreless for the last 5:45 of the period. University led 32-10 at halftime.
The Trailblazers get back into PAAC North action this weekend, traveling to Muncie Burris on Friday evening before hosting Liberty Christian on Saturday night.
