U.S. House passes Spartz’s resolution supporting Ukraine’s people in their fight

The U.S. House of Representatives on Wednesday passed with near unanimous support H. Res. 956. Congresswoman Victoria Spartz (R-Ind.-05) led the bipartisan resolution along with Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Rep. Gregory Meeks (D-N.Y.-05).

This resolution demands an immediate cease-fire and the full withdrawal of Russian forces from Ukrainian territory and expresses unequivocal support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

It also backs the continued use of sanctions to fully isolate the Putin regime economically, urges the Russian Federation alongside United States allies and partners to guarantee safe passage out of the country, and urges the United States and its allies and partners to deliver additional and immediate defensive security assistance to Ukraine.
