The Noblesville and Hamilton Heights boys wrestling teams competed in the first day of the North Montgomery Duals on Thursday.
Both teams went 2-2 in dual meets at the tournament. The Millers beat North Putnam 65-9 in their first match, then fell to Lincoln Way Central 44-21 and Hanover Central 44-32 before defeating Pendleton Heights 51-27.
Meanwhile, Hamilton Heights won its first dual 67-9 over North Montgomery, then fell to Rensselaer Central 42-32 and Whiteland 58-22. The Huskies beat Sullivan 78-6 in their fourth dual. As a result, Noblesville and Heights wrestled each other in the ninth-place dual, with the Millers winning 47-29.
Noblesville had two undefeated wrestlers at the tournament: Zach Nekolite at 126 pounds and Evan Nicholls at 175. Kai Kaohi (at 106), AJ Kramer (at 144) and Yan Tioua (at 190) all were 4-1, while Mason Presits (at 150), Aden Widget (at 157) and Cale Metzler (at 215) all finished 3-2.
The Huskies had three unbeaten wrestlers: Simon Kuhn at 138, Michael Cain at 165 and Drew Laitas at 285. Justin Tilton finished 4-1 at 144 pounds, while Finn Bowman (at 113), Cooper Doucette (at 120), Aidan Furst (at 150) and Joey Sigler (at 190) all were 3-2.
