Shortly after 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 18, a resident of 168 Tippecanoe Drive in Noblesville was alerted by a neighbor to smoke coming from her home.

The homeowner was able to safely exit the house and call 911. She ran next door to alert her neighbors at 169 Tippecanoe Drive that their home was also on fire.

Fire and EMS units were dispatched by Hamilton County Communications. Upon arrival, crews could see smoke and fire coming from both homes. Crews were able to quickly deploy hand lines and bring the fires under control.

There were not any injuries to civilians, firefighters, or pets.

The Noblesville Fire Department (NFD) was assisted by the Cicero Fire Department, the White River Township Fire Department, the Lapel Fire Department, the Jackson Township Fire Department, the Wayne Township Fire Department, the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, and the Noblesville Police Department.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

NFD reminds residents to sleep with their bedroom doors closed, which can reduce exposure to toxic smoke and help limit the spread of flames.
