The Noblesville Swim Club will be conducting tryouts for its Ignition Group next week.
The tryouts will take place at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3. They are for swimmers between the ages of 8 and 14. Swimmers must be able to demonstrate strength in the freestyle and backstroke, and either a legal breaststroke or butterfly.
The group will be limited to the first 20 people who register; after that there will be a waiting list for those who register after the first 20.
Registration opens at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3. The Club will conduct practices from 6 to 7 p.m. Mondays and Wednesday from Jan. 8 to Feb. 28. The cost will be provided on the night of tryouts.
This group is a great way for swimmers who have never been a part of a competitive team, to get exposure to the format, rhythm, and experience of the Noblesville Swim Club. A Noblesville coach will create practices that focus on the technical development of the four strokes (butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, and freestyle), teach swimmers how to read and manage workouts and the clock, and create sets that begin to introduce swimmers to aerobic conditioning.
