“Try the Y” for free day of fitness & fun on Feb. 1

The YMCA of Greater Indianapolis invites the community to “Try the Y” and check out its offerings for free on Saturday, Feb. 1. Individuals and families can discover the vibrant and diverse programs at the YMCA.

Locally, the Westfield and Fishers YMCA will participate:

  • Ascension St. Vincent YMCA in Westfield: 874 Virginia Rose Ave.
  • Fishers YMCA: 9012 E. 126th

Visitors will have the chance to explore state-of-the-art equipment in our wellness center, group exercise classes, and open swim and open gym sessions. In addition, families will find activities for children. Information on youth sports, swim lessons, day and overnight camps, as well as employment and volunteer activities, will be available. Additionally, YMCA group exercise teachers will launch all-new Les Mills classes.

“We’re inviting the community into our centers to experience in real time our vision of a healthier, more equitable, more connected community,” said Michael Farris, chief operations officer and senior VP of operations with the YMCA of Greater Indianapolis.

Anyone who attends “Try the Y” and becomes a YMCA member will not have to pay the join fee. Current Y members who recruit a friend to join will receive a $25 program credit.

No advance registration is required, but photo ID is required for admission to the Y centers. To learn more or sign up for an event reminder, visit indymca.org/try-the-y.
