Trick or Treat hours unchanged in Fishers, for now

LarryInFishers.com

Several cities in Central Indiana have moved their official Trick or Treat hours to the weekend due to a rainy and windy weather forecast for the evening of Oct. 31, but Fishers is not changing plans.

The official Trick or Treat hours for Fishers remain 6 to 8 p.m. on Halloween.

Fishers Police Spokesman Tom Weger says his department is aware of the less than ideal weather forecast, but adds that “conditions are not likely to be dangerous.”

But city officials will keep an eye on the forecast as Halloween draws closer.

“We will keep watch of the weather and be prepared to make adjustments in the event the weather forecast changes,” according to Weger.

  1. So it’s supposed to get 20 degrees and small children and Parents pushing babies in strollers.?‍♀️. Why can’t it happen on the weekend? Plus Maybe some freezings.

  2. Cold, rainy weather, mixed with high winds classifies as safe for children? I could understand pushing forward and keeping trick or treating today if the extended forecast called for similar weather, but it is supposed to be substantially warmer, with no rain the next day. This seems like an easy decision; one that is being made all across Central Indiana. Yes, it may be inconvenient to have it pushed 1 day; but this is supposed to be what is best for the kids.

  3. I have a 4yo daughter that has a genetic syndrome that causes her to have a low immune system. Taking her out in this weather would be crazy! She has a costume that I’m not able to return. Could you guys reconsider moving it to the weekend? I’m sure other parents are concerned about the weather tonight?

  4. Really?!?!?!
Come on, let’s be realistic- change this to dryer weather forecast for Friday

  5. Tomorrow would be much more enjoyable for all!

  6. PLEASE move trick or treat to Friday, Nov 1.

  7. There is no reason Halloween needs to be on October 31st exactly. Choosing a day with good weather towards the end of October would make the Holliday more fun for everyone.

  8. I agree with Brenda. Why can’t festivities be moved to Friday? Is there anyone in the town of Fishers who would object? Let the kids enjoy trick or treating!

  9. I think they should change it to weekend! Bad weather for small children and also for adults to be out.

It’s a little to cold for kids to be out!! Wind is supposed to be 30mph

  11. I’m glad they are keeping the trick or treat on Halloween. When my kids were small and we lived in the city of Chicago. It got cold, we’re talking Chicago. But we still went out. Dressed them warm and blankets, if needed. It’s no fun if it’s not Halloween

  12. Obviously the Chief will probably be in a nice warm donut shop and could care less about the freezing kids!

  13. If we aren’t going to change the day, why don’t we change the start time? Let’s start at 5 instead of 6 so we can get out sooner rather than later?

Snow and 20 degree temps with windchill. These are the people that are suppose to make GOOD decisions for the public? Time to recheck decision skills

  15. POSTPONE TO FRIDAY.. IT IS TOO COLD AND THE KIDS WILL NOT ENJOY THEMSELVES AND WILL BE DISAPPOINTED…

It needs to be canceled this is supposed to be for children and you’re risking them going out in this weather! There just getting candy, it’s not worth putting out children at risk cancel it please for the safety of the children
