Westfield Mayor Andy Cook on Wednesday joined other city leaders and owners of Pro X Athlete Development to break ground on the latest business to make Grand Park its home. The $5 million Pro X facility is scheduled to open in early 2019.

“Our vision for Grand Park was that it be an economic driver for Westfield,” said Cook. “Seeing a private company like Pro X locate here is evidence that our vision for this campus is on track. It is the beginning of Grand Park’s future in the ‘business of sports.'”

“The Pro X team is thrilled that we get an opportunity to bring our training experience and expertise to the great city of Westfield and Grand Park,” commented Joe Thatcher, Pro X President. “We feel our presence on the campus will not only compliment what has been created, but also be a catalyst for future growth. Grand Park affords so many athletes the opportunity to compete and showcase their talents on a grand scale and our goal is help these same athletes be the best that they can be.”

The 60,000-square foot facility will be located west of the Grand Park Events Center and will provide the unique integration of all facets of an athlete’s development: Physical training, rehab, injury prevention and sport-specific instruction.

The Pro X mission is to expose athletes of all sports, ages and skill levels to innovative and high-level training. The multi-sport training facility will feature a 3,000-square foot weight room, 38,000-square feet of open turf (enough for two full-sized baseball diamonds), 22 batting cages, two full swing golf simulators and a fully operational sports rehab/physical therapy office.

The Pro X business concept and facility were developed and designed by former professional athletes – including former Indianapolis Colts players Justin Snow, Curtis Painter and Dan Muir – and replicates the integrated and customized care pro athletes receive on a daily basis. Pro X is dedicated to helping young athletes in the journey to achieve their full potential. For more go to proxathlete.com.
