Stuckey Farm is putting its eight acres of sunflowers to another good use – fighting hunger.
Beginning Saturday, the sunflower fields at Stuckey Farm, 19975 Hamilton Boone Road, Sheridan, will be open to the public and 100 percent of the entrance fees will benefit the Society of St. Andrew in the fight against hunger.
The Society of St. Andrew collects food from farms and donates it to food agencies, thus providing the freshest food possible for those in need. From 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 10 and Saturday, Aug. 17, your entrance fee to Stuckey Farm will be a 100 percent donation to help fight hunger in Indiana. Stuckey Farm suggests a donation of $5 per person.
This is Stuckey Farm’s second year working with the Society of St. Andrew. Last year, the organization gleaned apples from the orchard, and this fall will be the same with the help of 200 FFA members.
